If you’re a fan of raspberry, lemonade, or raspberry lemonade, I think you’ll enjoy it.Summer may be coming to an end, but Mountain Dew is looking to hold on to those warm weather vibes a little longer with a brand-new summery drink. Stay tuned for those.Īnd yeah, if you know where a Speedway is around you, I would suggest going and picking up some Spark for yourself. We’ll get to explore that thought a bit more in the coming weeks, as I have some basic Mountain Dew bottles coming from various places across the world coming in and I plan on doing blind taste tests versus Original Recipe Dew from what I can get down at Kroger. I wonder how much this plays into simply the taste of an audience in Finland versus an audience here in the US. On the other hand, it means I can’t just run down to Speedway and get that Supernova fix I was hoping for. Which, on one hand, I’m happy fore because it means a new taste experience. All in all, they are rather different sodas. If Supernova was raspberry with a lemon twist, this is much closer to what I would say is a raspberry lemonade. It definitely has more lemon flavor in it coming through as well. And much like how I liked Supernova, I’m also very much enjoying Spark. Which, I can certainly appreciate as well. This feels more like a traditional, “slam it back” Mountain Dew. Supernova came across more as a warm afternoon/leisurely sipping soda. Spark has much more of a punch of flavor to it right at the beginning. Much more like a Jolly Rancher or something.Īs for the taste… Yeah, definitely different. Spark here smells more like artificial raspberry. Supernova smelled like fresh raspberries. This is opposed to the more peach-like color of Supernova. I know having a clear bottle sort of robs the surprise coloration from the pour, but still, I think it actually got a little more pink in the glass. But before I can taste it, I need to have the pour. But will this be my savior soda? Let’s find out. I lamented that I loved how that soda tasted and that I probably wouldn’t be able to have it again. Astute readers will recognize that as sounding a lot like Supernova from Finland that I had recently. Though I got this particular soda from online instead of driving around to different locations in the hopes they had some. I’m not entirely sure about their distribution around the country, but there’s a few here in Atlanta. It’s Mountain Dew Spark.įor those that don’t know, Speedway is a gas station chain. So, let’s look at one that’s only available here in the US at select Speedway locations. I’ve still got a couple of special Dews that I came across a couple weeks ago and even have a few more on the way.
